CLIENT: NIR Systems, Inc. PROJECT: "SmartProbe" NIR (Near Infra-Red) analyzer MATERIALS & PROCESSES: Resin-cast housing halves and trigger bonded together so no threaded fastener recesses exist. DESCRIPTION: A quality control instrument for checking incoming shipments, this probe has a long stainless steel barrel (not shown) that is inserted into truckloads of grains or similar food items to verify the contents and the quality. Subject to nearly continuous use and repeated cleanings, it needed to be durable and fit the hand well to prevent stress injuries.
